Making Contact

If you would like to try out therapy with me the first thing to do is to contact me by calling or emailing me, whichever feels easiest for you. I will always try to respond promptly. At the initial contact, it is helpful for me to know briefly why you are seeking therapy now and I can answer any questions you may have about starting therapy. If you wish to continue, we will then arrange to meet for a consultation.

Initial Consultation

Once we have agreed to meet, I offer an initial consultation, which usually takes two sessions, sometimes more. Each session will last for 50 minutes. This gives you the space to talk about your reasons for seeking therapy and what your hopes and concerns might be. We can also discuss any questions you may have about therapy.

The consultation will also give you an idea of my way of working to enable you to decide whether you would like to work with me. There is no obligation to continue after the initial meeting. If you feel I am not the right fit for you I will try to offer you alternative recommendations that might suit you or your situation better.

Sessions times and duration

If we agree to work together, I offer 50 minute appointment times, on the same day and at the same time each week. I work on an open-ended basis. This allows you to determine the length of time of your therapy.

I am a recognised psychotherapist with Aviva, Axa PPP and Vitality Health insurance companies.

Fees

My fees average between £60 and £80 and are individually negotiated, depending on ability to pay. I offer some lower cost placements for day time appointments and those on low incomes. For the initial consultation I charge a standard fee of £60. All session times missed by you are payable because your appointment time is reserved for you. I do not charge for sessions that I miss.

Therapy agreement

Once we have agreed to work together, I will clarify the arrangements that are important for therapeutic work in a therapy agreement which will include: appointment times, confidentiality, fees, cancellation of sessions and ending therapy.
